Mr. McInerney managed Coldwell Banker in San Francisco for over ten years. During that period it was the most productive brokerage in San Francisco, with over $10 billion in sales and 10,000 closed transactions. He also brings a savvy command of real estate law to GPK. McInerney was a partner at Orrick Herrington Sutcliffe LLP for eight years with a diverse real estate practice of lenders, developers, investors and institutional commercial tenants. He remains “of counsel” at Reuben Junius Rose, LLP, San Francisco’s premier land use firm.
“It is a coup to have John McInerney join our team,” said Stephen Patton, GPK Luxury Real Estate founding partner. “We are very proud to add his insight, expertise and unprecedented success to the abundant offerings we present to our valued clients.”
“I have admired GPK’s work for quite some time,” added McInerney. “I am excited to collaborate with Stephen Gomez, Stephen Patton and Bryant Kowalczyk. Their expertise in Nob Hill, Pacific Heights and SOMA makes them a powerhouse in San Francisco residential real estate. I am delighted to join a boutique firm known for its consistent success and highly personalized client relations.”
McInerney has deep roots in the San Francisco community. A fifth generation San Franciscan and graduate of the University of San Francisco and University of San Francisco School of Law, he has developed over 300 units in San Francisco and has had an active career outside of his real estate practice. Among his related real estate interests, McInerney serves as an expert witness in several practice areas including broker standard of care, led the San Francisco Board of Appeals as a member and president for more than six years and participated in the adjudication of approximately 3,300 matters, has served as a fee dispute arbitrator for the Bar Association of San Francisco for more than 25 years, and has served as a Referee for the San Francisco Superior Court in partition actions.
In joining GPK, McInerney joins a firm that represents clients seeking to buy and sell luxury condominiums, cooperatives, and single-family homes in the city’s premium neighborhoods. The firm was established in 1978 by Stephen Gomez and Stephen Patton, with Bryant Kowalczyk joining as a third partner in 2012. The only real estate firm in the Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco since the company’s inception, GPK offers clients the highest standards of professionalism, market knowledge and service.
